> To which destinations does THAI fly?THAI serves over 70 destinations in 35 countries on four continents and more countries in Asia than any other airline. We fly to 13 major cities in the UK and Europe including London, Paris, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Athens, Moscow, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Madrid. There's over 1,000 flights every week within the Asian region to cover the demands of most Australian travellers – including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Vietnam, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, to name a few. In addition, THAI reaches to the places worldwide through codesharing with our Star Alliance partner airlines. Discuss your travel plans with a licensed travel agent for the best advice on planning your next trip. > Can I order special meals when I fly with THAI?Yes you can...please make your request when you book your flight or up to 48 hours prior to your departure flight. You can request a meal preference from a range of special dietary or religious choices. There's over 28 choices from vegetarian to gluten-free or Halal and even a special 'Toddler' meal for our younger travellers. Discuss your options with your travel agent who can arrange a meal request on your behalf, or contact THAI reservations on 1300 651 960. > How do I become a member of Royal Orchid Plus?It is as easy as can be. You can enrol online following a few simple steps...or you can drop in to a THAI office to complete an application form...or you can call our reservations staff to have an application form sent out to you: 1300 651 960 > What do I need to do to ensure that my frequent flyer (ROP) miles accrue?Quote your membership at the time of booking. At check-in, show your Royal Orchid Plus card again. Ensure that you keep your tickets and boarding passes until you have verified your statement upon your return. THAI is able to retro-credit any flights for up to six months. > Are all THAI fares entitled to mileage accrual? Effective 01 July 2008, Economy Class fares booked on THAI's G/V/W will no longer accrue any mileage. Y, B, M, Q, H fares will accrue 100% of the mileage travel on THAI flights. > When should I enrol in the Frequent Flyer programme?Travellers should enrol in Royal Orchid Plus prior to the departure of their first flight and make sure that membership numbers are recorded in flight bookings. Membership is open to all travellers aged from 2 years and up. For detailed information see Royal e-Service and Booking, Royal e-Ticket, and Royal e-Check-in. > How do I take advantage of Royal Orchid Holidays?Royal Orchid Holidays gives you an extensive range of hotel stopovers, mini-breaks, sightseeing tours, spa packages, honeymoon deals and more extended touring holidays in Thailand, Asia, and in most of THAI's destinations across the world. Special group travel discounts apply. There is a range of options from day-rooms at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport to 2- or 3-day stopovers. To book your Thailand stopover, contact THAI reservations on 1300 651 960 or for more extensive holidays, contact your travel agent for advice. > What is THAI Phone?Passengers can access automatic response flight details and other information 24 hours a day by dialling 1566 in Bangkok, or (02) 1566 within Thailand and listening to the instructions. > Is it necessary to reconfirm my THAI flights?No, it's no longer compulsory to reconfirm your onward THAI flights. It is, however, recommended that you always ensure that your travel agent has advised the airline of your local contacts at all departure points. If you book with THAI online at www.thaiair.com, your booking will have your contact details already provided. The only travellers required to reconfirm are those departing from Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad in Pakistan. Please call Pakistan 0800-08424 no later than 3 days prior to departure. > Which THAI aircraft have personal entertainment screens in all classes? To find out what a sound investment it is, read about its policies and goals, peruse its Shareholder Resolutions and Board Resolutions and then check the information in Investor Relations. > How did THAI get started?THAI began operations in 1951 as a small domestic operation and in 1960 began serving regional operations, quickly expanding to include overseas routes. > Do your aircraft have power outlets?Yes, on refurbished Boeing 747s in Royal First Class and in Royal Silk (business) Class. Boeing 777-200 ER and the Airbus 340-600 have outlets in all classes. Power outlets are universal and all plugs are compatible. > Can I take my pet into the cabin?No, not from Australia. Due to Australian regulations, pets can only be carried on flights as cargo. Some countries regulations do allow pets in the cabin of the aircraft, please call our reservations department on 1300 651 060 Australia-wide for details. > Can my young child travel on his/her own?Yes, we call this an unaccompanied minor. An unaccompanied minor form needs to be completed and a service fee needs to be paid. THAI staff will then assist your child from check-in, through customs and immigration and onto the aircraft. The exact same will occur upon arrival of the flight concerned. Please contact your nearest THAI office. > What time does THAI check-in open?THAI check-in counters open 3 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time and close 40 minutes before departure time. Travellers can now check-in online but please remember that your travel documentation must still be presented by check-in staff for validation. > What's the best way to travel between Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang Airports and Bangkok? For travel from the airports to Bangkok City, there are airport bus services and taxis. The Suvarnabhumi Airport Express trainlink is expected to be finished early in 2010. Currently there are airport bus services and taxis are readily available for passengers arriving and departing Bangkok. > Can I travel on a one-way ticket to Thailand?No. Due to immigration requirements, unless you are a Thai national passport holder, have a residency permit or applicable visa, or have an existing confirmed ticket for onward travel exiting Thailand. Passengers who do not fall in to one of the above categories will be denied boarding if attempting to travel on a one-way ticket. |
